DRAX POWER in UK is monitoring many temperature points....Foundation fieldbus based Rosemount transmitters and interface units will transmit data from over 500 temperature monitoring points on one of the boiler and turbine systems at Drax Power Station
Emerson Process Management has supplied Foundation fieldbus based Rosemount temperature transmitters and interface units to transmit data from over 500 monitoring points on one of the boiler and turbine systems at Drax Power Station, the largest, cleanest and most efficient coal fired power station in the UK.
The Emerson solution was chosen by Drax Power and Capula, the contractor undertaking the refurbishment, following presentations and demonstrations of interfacing the Rosemount 3420 fieldbus interface module to their Schneider PLC host system.
There are devices that will convert analog to digital or digital to analog; examples to refer to just a few are: Rosemount 848T, to which one can wire up to 8 temperature elements (thermocouple and or RTD); Rosemount 848T which can be setup and configured to accept up to four analog inputs (milliamps); Rosemount 848L (digital to logic converter); StoneL digital to analog or analog to digital (one/two analog outputs from difital; one or two logic channels) and SMAR products
