Does anybody know the sense of HART common practice command #39 (EEPROM Control) ?A smart device will restore itīs shadow RAM after power up and will burn automatically the EEPROM after any change in the shadow RAM. Why is there any need to trigger this using a HART command ?
For my understanding the only thing what could be detected, using this command in addition with a EEPROM checksum, is: The EEPROM is already defective or not.
